XV. PAUL'S SECOND PREACHING TOUR - Part 2 (THESSALONICA TO ANTIOCH)  (17:1-18:22)

A. Paul preaches that Jesus is the Christ in THESSALONICA (17:1-9).

                1. Paul passes through AMPHIPOLIS and APOLLONIA.

                2. Paul reasons from scriptures in synagogue for three sabbath days.

                3. Many persuaded - Some Jews, multitude of Greeks, many chief  women.

                4. Jealous Jews cause trouble for Jason's house.

B. Paul preaches word of God in BEREA (17:10-15).

                1. More noble - receive scriptures - examining daily.

                2. Many believe - Jews, honorable Greek women, Greek men.

                3. Jews from Thessalonica come stirring up trouble for Paul

                4. Paul accompanied to Athens - Silas and Timothy stay behind with command to come speedily to Athens.

C. Paul preaches Jesus and the resurrection in ATHENS (17:16-34).

                1. Paul reasons in Syngagoue with Jews and the devout - in market place with Epicurean and Stoic philosophers.

                2. Paul preaches of the One God to city of many gods - commands  repentance.

                3. Dionysius the Areopagite, Damaris (a woman), others believe.

D. Paul preaches Jesus as the Christ in CORINTH (18:1-17).

                1. Paul abides with fellow tent makers Aquila and Priscilla.

                2. Silas and Timothy arrive from Macedonia.

                3. Paul turns from blaspheming Jews to preach to Gentiles.

                4. Crispus, his household and many Corinthians hear, believe and are baptized.

                5. Paul encouraged not to be afraid by vision of the Lord.

                6. Paul teaches word of God for one year and six months.

                7. Jews bring Paul before Gallio, the proconsul - Paul's accussers driven from judgment seat - beat Sosthenes.

E. Paul reasons with Jews for a short time in EPHESUS (18:18-21)

                1. Priscilla and Aquila join Paul - remain.

F. Paul lands in CAESAREA - arrives in ANTIOCH (18:22)

                1. In Caesarea goes up to salute church (CAESAREA or JERUSALEM)

                2. Goes down to ANTIOCH.
