The Lord Had a Plan Instead

The people had a plan to build a tower.
“Up, up, up to the heavens,” they said.
And as they spoke in one common language,  The news began to spread.

“Come let us make some bricks to build a tower.
Up, up, to the heavens,” they said.
“And we will make a name for ourselves.”
But the Lord had a plan instead.

The Lord looked down, down, down on the
plan of the people.
He came down, down, down with a plan of His own.
And took away their common language
Making many from the one.

The Lord looked down, down, down on the

And scattered them all over the earth.
So that His name would be known.
