EZEKIEL:  LESSON EIGHT

THE LAND – PEOPLE – ENEMY


Time: 585  B.C. (Chapters 36-39)

 I. THE LAND BLESSED – THE PEOPLE REVIVED    (Chapters 36-39)

A. The land addressed and blessed (36:1-38)

1. Surrounding lands who blasphemed the land of Israel will bear their shame (v. 1-7).

2. The land of Israel will be blessed better than former state (v. 8-5).

3. God’s wrath upon Israel’s sin caused God’s name to be profaned among the nations.  He was considered a weak local god unable to keep his people in his land (v. 16-21).

4. God would counter the nations’ false impression of His power by restoring His sanctified people in their land (v. 22-31).

5. God will do o for His name’s sake (v. 32-36).

6. God will be inquired of again by a sanctified people (v. 37-38).

B. The people revived (37:1-28)

1. The vision of the dry bones: a hopeless or dead people raised to a new life in their own land (v. 1-14).

2. The sign of the two sticks becoming one : the divided nations of Israel and Judah become one under the King (v. 15-28).

C. The enemy conquered (38:1-39:29)

1. Gog of the land of Magog, as a numerous and mighty enemy, will be destroyed by God when they come upon God’s people, who are established in peace in their land. – “None shall make them be afraid.”
