SONG OF SOLOMON – LESSON FOUR

I. THE SHULAMMITE’S SECOND DREAM OF HER BELOVED – BUT HE HAS TURNED AWAY IN HER DREAM (5:2-6:3).

A. The Shulammite woman dreams that her beloved comes asking her to open her door (v. 2)

1. Shulammite woman replies that she is already taken off her garment and washed her feet for the night (v.3).

B. When she does open the door – he has turned away (v.4-6).

C. The daughters of Jerusalem must promise that if they find the beloved, that they will tell him that the Shulammite woman is “sick from love” for him (v. 8).

D. Daughters of Jerusalem wonder why the Shulammite’s beloved is greater than another (v. 9)

1. Shulammite woman describes ten-fold the physical greatness of her beloved (v. 10-16).

E. Daughters of Jerusalem ask where her beloved has gone – they would like to seek him with her (6:1).

1. Shulammite woman replies with a yearning for him to come to her – for they belong to each other (6:2-3)
